Hello to all:

John Salvato, Frank Carson and John Ballew are amazing leaders  as many of you already know. So, if you are looking to meet wonderful new men and have a joyful, heartfelt experience this Labor Day, then come join this community. I can't recommend it highly enough. And I look forward to seeing you: I'll be coming for part of the retreat as well.

Playing Together:  Exploring Fun in Your Life

Friday, August 31 - Monday, September 3, 2012

Join us for the Annual Labor Day Retreat at Easton Mountain, a gathering of gay, bi, and transgender men focused on experiencing personal inner growth and building community.  This year’s theme is “Playing Together:  Exploring Fun in Your Life.” Whether it’s in playing sports or expressing creativity and playfulness through writing, singing, movement, art, storytelling, ritual, dressing up, or quiet and intimate connections – Fun, in all its forms, is the field that relationships run on.

At Labor Day, we each take the risk of sharing our deepest inspirations and aspirations with each other.  In large and small group activities, we draw from our personal strengths to create and play in a supportive community.

We invite you to join our community:  Bring your gifts, struggles, and dreams.  There will be plenty of time to connect with old and new friends and to relax in a beautiful environment.

Facilitated by John Salvato, NYC; Frank Carson, NYC; and
John Ballew, Atlanta, GA; with Jack Hyman, Tom Dennison, & Special Guest Author, Charles Rice-Gonzalez

AND A REQUEST FOR VOLUNTEERS FROM MY FRIEND MORTY ROSENBAUM, FOR HIS STUDY OF GAY MEN IN THERAPY

Hello, all supporters of science, LGBT awareness, and psychotherapy!

I am a doctoral student who is looking for the help of gay men, aged 18 and older, who are currently engaged in regular individual psychotherapy. If you fit this description, I hope you’ll consider filling out an anonymous, <10-minute online survey about your experience of therapy.

If you complete the survey, you’ll have the option of providing your email address to enter a raffle to win one of three Amazon.com gift certificates: one for $100 and two for $50 each. If you do provide your email address, it will be used only to notify you if you’ve won.

If you meet the criteria and wish to participate, take the survey by following this link:
https://liubpsych.us2.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_b8gzf6yJJBkrMfa
If you know someone else who meets the criteria and think he might be interested, please pass this email along.

Your participation in this research is voluntary. You must complete the 10-minute survey in order to enter the raffle, and you may participate only once. If you decide to discontinue your participation in the study, you can do so by exiting the survey. At that point, the responses you have already provided will be used for the study only if you authorize their use.

This research has been approved by the IRB of the Long Island University Brooklyn Institutional Review Board.
You may also contact the student researcher, Morton Rosenbaum, M.A., at liu.research@gmail.com. Thanks very much for your help.

Still Time to Register for A Wiser Path To Love

banner-cloud6.jpg

Hello to all my readers,

My upcoming Teleclass series, (which was supposed to begin last week) has been postponed until this Monday (8/13), so there's still time to register. We have a great group of participants, so please consider joining us.  A Wiser Path To Love will teach you about your own Core Gifts and how to express them more fully in your search for love--an empowering and healing new way to understand the journey to intimacy.

This course series is the culmination of many years of my own teaching about intimacy, and I am excited to gather a small, vibrant learning communty of people who care deeply about love and intimacy in their lives.

Although the class has a focus on finding a relationship, you're also welcome to join if you want to use these tools to deepen all your relationships. This class series includes:

  • A private 25 minute session with me (in-person, or Via Skype or phone)
  • Twelve class sessions (led by me), which will guide you in discovering, understanding and embracing your own unique Core Gifts. (The technology we use allows you to enter into breakout groups as part of your learning).
  • Exercises, field trips, and micro-meditations designed to change, heal and empower the way you search for love and relate to yourself and your loved ones
  • Downloadable handouts for each class, which will form your own deeper dating handbook
  • An exciting community of learning including a forum to share ideas, insights and questions with other class participants
  • A Dating Buddy (I'll match you with your buddy) to share and integrate all the insights you'll be learning in this course.

As a result of this three and one half month class you can expect to:

  • Discover and more deeply embrace your own Core Gifts
  • Change and empower your approach to finding love
  • Learn to lead with your deepest self in your relationships--in a way that honors who you are.
  • Learn to distinguish between "relationships of deprivation" and "relationships of inspiration".
  • Understand your life and your intimacy journey in new and life-changing ways.
Over the years, I've come to believe that deep life-change usually "takes a village." I've built this class series based upon that belief. Together we will form a community of inquiry, discovery and support. I think you will find that this kind of support, combined with the tools you'll be learning, can make all the difference in the world.

The class begins on 8/13 and runs through 11/19. All classes will be recorded in case you need to miss them. It takes place on Monday nights from 8:30-9:30 ET. The cost of this entire course is $299. If these ideas speak to you, I'd be honored to have you join us. Below are the links to register, either with full payment, or with a three-payment installment plan. I wish you all growth and inspiration in your intimacy journeys!

And if you have questions about your own participation or whether this would be a match for you, feel free to call me at 516-241-1229.

And please feel free to share this email and recording with anyone you think might be interested!

Warmly
Ken
