John Salvato, a middle school teacher on Long Island, is an advocate for eliminating homophobia in schools.  In addition to writing curricula that is inclusive of gay-positive lessons, John has created a workshop for the gay community called "Sports for Fairies" which explores feelings and memories of dreaded gym classes in a non-threatening way -- everybody becomes first choice on the team.  John has been the New York Coordinator for Body Electric for the last eight years.
